RETURNING TO MASS—UPDATED PROTOCOL 5/26/21

The State of Michigan recently modified its recommendations for wearing masks, particularly for those who have been vaccinated. As we move forward, wearing a mask or not as you come to Mass is now a decision of your own conscience. You will see some people wearing masks, others not doing so, but we are not to judge as to their reason for wearing a mask or not getting the vaccine. There are people who cannot receive the vaccine because of health concerns, age, etc., therefore our churches are a “no judgement” zone. Please be kind and understanding and remember that most children have not yet been vaccinated, so we also want to be sensitive to their parent’s concerns.

As we make these changes, I realize that not everyone is feeling 100% comfortable yet, especially if you have only recently returned to Mass. During this transition time we will be using the Activity Center for those who wish to continue to social distance and use facemasks. Please consider using this option if you are hesitant to return to Mass and would like some more space. Our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will continue to wear masks during the distribution of Holy Communion.

We are all approaching this from different perspectives and I appreciate your faith and patience as we continue moving forward.

~Fr. John
